Abstract

Poetry conveys emotional experiences through language. This project investigates how poetic emotional experiences can be represented through dynamic mathematical visualisations while further developing a pipeline for this purpose. By leveraging a pretrained RoBERTa-based emotion classifier, the system analyses the fine-grained emotional states within a poem. These detected emotions are then mapped onto the parameters of strange attractors, complex structures from dynamical systems theory, to generate abstract, deterministic, and dynamic imagery. This work situates itself at the intersection of poetry, psychology, and mathematics, aiming to extend the poetic experience beyond language into the sensory domain
