The terms for using ReadSearch

The plain rules for using readsearch.ai. Using ReadSearch, or creating an account, means you accept them.

What ReadSearch is

ReadSearch (readsearch.ai) finds newly published research papers that match your field and explains them in short summaries, slides and audio briefings. In these terms "ReadSearch", "we" and "us" mean the team that runs readsearch.ai, and you can reach us at [email protected].

Summaries are a starting point, not advice

Our summaries, slides and audio are written with the help of AI. They can leave things out or get things wrong. They are a quick way to decide what to read, not a replacement for the paper itself.

Nothing on ReadSearch is medical, clinical, legal or other professional advice. Before you rely on a finding, especially for a patient, read the original paper and use your own professional judgement.

Your account

You must be at least 16 to use ReadSearch. Give us accurate details and keep your password and sign-in to yourself, because you are responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone else has used it, reset your password and tell us.

Using ReadSearch fairly

Please do not:

  • copy the service or collect its content in bulk, whether by scraping, bots or automated downloads;
  • try to get around our security or usage limits, or overload the service;
  • use another person's account, or pretend to be someone you are not;
  • post job listings or other content that is false, unlawful, discriminatory or misleading;
  • use ReadSearch to break the law or anyone else's rights.

We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules.

Your content and the papers

Anything you add, such as research threads, reference lists or job postings, stays yours. You give us permission to store it and use it to run ReadSearch for you, and for a job posting, to show it to other signed-in readers.

The papers belong to their authors and publishers. We show titles, abstracts and our own summaries, and link to the original source. The ReadSearch name, design and software belong to us.

Changes to the service

ReadSearch is free to use today. We are always improving it, so features may change, and now and then it may be unavailable. If we ever introduce paid features, we will tell you first, and nothing will be charged without your clear agreement.

Ending

You can stop using ReadSearch and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other readers at risk.

Our responsibility

We work hard to keep ReadSearch accurate and available, but we provide it as it is, without guarantees. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, or for decisions made on the strength of a summary without reading the paper. Nothing in these terms limits a right you have that the law does not let us exclude.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update this page and its date. For a significant change, we will tell you before it takes effect. If you keep using ReadSearch after that, the new terms apply.

Your privacy

How we handle your information is explained in our privacy policy at readsearch.ai/privacy.
