Abstract

This report presents findings from a Citizens' Panel convened by the SOUNDSCALE project (www.soundscale.ac.uk) to inform research priorities for distributed acoustic sensing (DAS). Across three online and in-person workshops, 48 residents from Hampshire and London explored the technology's potential uses, risks, governance, and societal implications. The report summarises their deliberations and priorities, and reflects on the challenges of involving citizens in early-stage research on an unfamiliar technology.
